2009 Fundraising

While the last two seasons were a great success for our teams representing the Nation's Capital and finishing near the top at the World Series, it is now 2009 and we are asking you to rejoin other community-wide leaders stepping up to the plate to support DC's National Girls Fast Pitch Tournament program - The Washington Senators. The Senators have already begun preparing to compete at the 2009 World Series at both the 16u and 18u levels. While the girls have worked hard to make the Nation's Capital area proud of their team and bring home DC's first national title, we need your support to make it happen in 2009!

Our girls played super in the 18u PONY World Series and 16u ASA Eastern Nationals last summer where they beat teams from across the nation to finish in the top 10. Although one of the youngest team in the tournament, they came with many awards. With this success behind them they have finished near the top in most major regional tournaments. In 2008 we were ranked in the top ten for the year and finished the year ranked #9. Needless to say, with outstanding prospects and talented roster in 2009 we should have a great shot at the title this year.

To fund our nationally competitive girl's fast pitch softball programs and upgrade our Capitol Hill field we need your financial support now. We know the economy is in distress but must ask our business leaders, friends and neighbors for contributions because we do not receive the level of direct and/or indirect support from local government sources as do our competitors in the suburbs and across the country. From viewing regional sport pages you may know that the Washington Senators are consistently one of the nation's top girl's fast pitch programs and Washington, DC's only representative to the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 World Series and National Championships. This success resulted in no small part from hard work and great support from generous individuals like you and your organization!

| To date we have received support from various national business, labor, education and related trade organizations, realtors, small businesses, and many individual contributors. These and all major supporters are listed on our team banner displayed at all tournaments and the World Series as well as the Hill's historic Tyler Field. Major donors contributing $500 or more with have their name listed on team web site, banners, publications and press statements receiving favorable attention in DC area and national tournament publications. More generous supporters ($1,000+) will receive a banner of their own design, prominently displayed at the team web site (www.SenatorsSoftball.com) and the Hill's historic Tyler Field, home to not only the Senators but major city-wide athletic events.

After reviewing our appeal and related information I hope you will agree that our girls are a team worthy of your enthusiastic support. Please make whatever contribution you can to: Senators Softball - 605 PA Avenue, SE Washington, DC 20003.

On behalf of the Senators, our Nation's Capital tournament team, I thank you for your support.
