August 2011

Dear Business Leader:

The 2011 Summer season ended in late July with the ESPN Rise World Games in Orlando, FL where we upset the CA Bat Busters, at that time ranked at the top of the 18u USSSA Poll. That event was only surpassed by the success at the 2010 World Series in Akron, OH where the girls ended with a top 10 finish. Now the Senators are preparing for 2011 Fall season and beginning to raise the funds for 2012 to support our top rated program.  I hope you will join other community leaders stepping up to the plate to make a tax-deductible contribution to support the talented players on Senators’ Girls fast pitch tournament team. The Senators play the top of teams ranked nationally and after Fall tournaments will start January 2nd preparing to for their run at the 2012 World Series at the ESPN Complex in FL in late July. While the girls have worked hard to make the Nation’s Capital area proud of their team and bring home DC’s first national title, we need your support in 2011 and 2012!

One special way to do this is to become a sponsor the Senators team.

To fund our nationally competitive girl’s 18u fast pitch softball programs we need your financial support now.  We must ask our business leaders, friends and neighbors for contributions because we do not receive the level of direct and/or indirect support from local government sources like our competitors in the suburbs and across the country.  From viewing the regional sport pages you may know that the Washington Senators are consistently one of the nation’s most respected girl’s fast pitch programs and Washington, DC’s only representative to the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 World Series and National Championship fast pitch tournaments. This success resulted in no small part from hard work and great supporters from businesses like you and your organization!

To date we have received support from various national business, labor, education and related trade organizations, realtors, small businesses, and many individual contributors. These and all major supporters are listed on our team banner displayed at all tournaments and the World Series as well as the Hill’s Tyler Field.  Major donors contributing $1,000 or more will have their name listed on team web site, banners, publications and press statements receiving favorable attention in DC area and national tournament publications. In addition, sponsors will receive a banner of their own design, prominently displayed at the team website www.SenatorsSoftball.com  and the Hill’s historic Tyler Field, home to not only the Senators but major city-wide athletic events.

After reviewing our appeal and related information I hope you will agree that our girls are a team and cause worthy of your enthusiastic support. Please make whatever contribution you can to: Senators Softball – 605 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE Washington, DC 20003. On behalf of the Senators, our Nation’s Capital tournament team, I thank you for your support of the Senators’ program.
